This is a pen plotter build designed by my teacher, Chris Whitmire. The build is around 2ft by 2ft and can make a 6in by 6in drawing. Using Universal G-Code Sender, I was able to import drawings and write my own own commands. The build was very easy to assemble and use. This build uses Arduino, Stepper motors, a servo motor, a simple track, and a dry erase marker.
My final hand coded picture of a house.
Some of the math involved in hand coding curved squares.
By writing G-Code I was able to draw a star from scratch.
This was my first attempt at using the pen plotter. The pen thresholds needed to be adjusted. (it is supposed to be a dog)
First mechanism down.
A progress shot of assembling the plotter.
Many of the parts were acrylic pieces and 80-20 aluminum.
